The Black Church has always played a central role in political activism, as evidenced by Dr. Martin L. King. He was propelled into the world by the powerful Black church. Indeed our ancestors did not merely preach about the revolutionary Jesus, they demonstrated by their political engagement that Jesus walks.
In the wake of massive death, disenfranchisement, and all manner of evil brought against us, we now find ourselves in the NEW CIVIL RIGHTS era of our time. May we rise to the occasion.
All of the political experts have confirmed the absolute NECESSITY of the Black vote in order to win the White House. But first, we must not neglect the very real power of the Black House, that is to say, the Black Church. We are the king makers. Sadly, we have put men in power who use us, and we get nothing in return. Only a slave does something for nothing. We are freethinking Black people. Let us act like it. Racist America makes the mess, and expects her former slaves to save her from herself. No more. We demand a robust economic Black Agenda.
Joe Biden, the mastermind behind the most racist criminal policy in recent history, just won the Democratic primary in South Carolina handily. Why? Ostensibly, because of a large number of Black Southern, religious voters. How do we reconcile voting for someone who has demonstrated that they mean us no good? We must become spiritually and politically mature and courageous.
That's why I'm interested in traveling throughout the Deep South to do political "rallies" in churches. I want to reignite the power source of America by and through us again. We are called for such a time as this, just like Esther. I would be honored to be sponsored by strategic political churches in the upcoming months before the presidential election in November. I want to show us where we are in the scriptures, and what we must do in this moment.
Growing up in Meridian, Mississippi at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, the pastor or deacon use to extend an invitation to new believers to join the church. As your sister in the struggle for Black Liberation, I ask you, no, I dare you. Open the doors of your church and city to us. Bring us in to spiritually inform and empower our people. Are the doors of your church open?
